Chris Evans' new show for Channel 5 will go up against Emmerdale and Channel 4 News in the schedules.
Live With Chris Moyles will run in the 7pm slot five nights a week, starting Seeptember 23 with a thirteen-week run.
The show, which will be filmed in a North London bar in front of a hand-picked audience of just 16, is said to be similar in style to TFI Friday. Moyles will review the day's news as well as fronting games and outside broadcasts.
He will continue to work on his afternoon show on Radio 1, having recently signed a new two-year deal with the station.
"Presenting is entirely different and trying to do both wouldn't work," said Evans at the Edinburgh Television Festival. "It's more important for me to encourage everyone else and create talent."
