BBC Two to look at 'British Style'
Published Thursday, Mar 6 2008, 12:50 GMT | By Dave West
BBC Two is planning a documentary series looking at British fashion.
British Style Genius will explore a different area of fashion in each of five hour-long episodes.
There will be interviews with the key figures from each sector including Topshop owner Philip Green. Savile Row tailoring and "chav" will be among the styles covered.
Producer William Naylor, from BBC Vision Productions, said the first instalment would be about the British High Street.
"Our high street retailers are not only incredibly responsive to the catwalk - making cutting edge fashion accessible - but they also set trends themselves," he said.
It is slated to air during Friday night primetime in the autumn.
