Architectural designer Charlie Luxton has signed up with Five to present across the channel's portfolio of property and architecture programming.
Luxton's duties will start with I Own Britain's Best Home, which starts on the channel on March 20. He will take over from George Clarke as host of Build A New Life in the Country when it comes back for a fourth run next year, and will also present Open House, a new seven-part series looking at the eponymous architectural event, later in the year.
"I’m thrilled to have been given this opportunity to join the team at Five and am looking forward to helping the channel strengthen its already excellent reputation in architecture and property programming," said Luxton. "I’ve always been impressed by the quality and variety of Five’s programmes in this area, and I relish the challenge of bringing architecture and design to a new audience by making them accessible and entertaining. I am delighted to be embarking on a relationship with the channel at a time when its future is so exciting."
Luxton has previously presented architecture programmes on Channel 4 and BBC Three.
