Comedy Central has ordered a pilot of the as-yet-untitled show following the rapper's teen years in the 1980s.
"We've been looking to get into business with Snoop, who's always fantastic on our roasts," said Lauren Corrao, the channel's programming president. "He's one of those people who truly crosses over between music and comedy."
She also revealed a raft of other pilots and scripts Comedy Central is looking at developing. They include a sketch pilot from comedian Andy Richter, magazine show parody David Alan Grier's Chocolate News and animation Gay Robot.
The channel has already ordered a series, billed as "medieval comedy", called Krod Mandoon and the Flaming Sword of Fire. Corrao said it was "hilariously funny" and expected to be popular with broadcasters outside the US.
