Sugar suggests teen version of 'Apprentice'
Sir Alan Sugar has revealed that he recently proposed a teenage version of The Apprentice to the BBC.

The spinoff show would feature similar business-related tasks to the adult version. However, taking into account the age of potential contestants, its boardroom climax would focus on the winning team rather than the firing of the weakest candidate.

"I believe it would be an absolute one-off blockbuster if you had a programme round about the six, seven o'clock timeslot featuring 12 to 15-year-old kids," Sugar said.

However, the BBC has thus far reacted indifferently to the proposal, with Sugar admitting that "nobody took any notice".

The multi-millionaire businessman also revealed that he is in "positive discussions" with the broadcaster about appearing on a fifth series of The Apprentice in 2009.

The latest series of The Apprentice begins March 26 at 9pm on BBC One.
