'The Bill' leads 'HolbyBlue' in cop battle
Published Friday, Apr 4 2008, 14:05 BST | By Dave West
Holby edged ahead of the competitor for its opening episode two weeks ago, but yesterday fell to just 3.8m, or 17.1% of the audience. The show was well short of BBC One's average of 4.8m (21.9%) for the 8pm slot. The Bill drew 5.2m (23.5%) to ITV1 at the same time.
Later on, lacklustre offerings saw both main channels record weak ratings. On BBC One at 9pm, Identity Fraud: Outnumbered was watched by 3.9m (17.1%). ITV1's Holiday Homes from Hell did even worse with 3.5m (15.2%).
Channel 4 took advantage with Cutting Edge instalment The Human Spider drawing 2.5m (10.9%) at 9pm; Five reached 2.1m (9.1%) for US drama House; and 2m (8.7%) watched The Apprentice: Worst Decisions Ever on BBC Two.
