ITV
The opening show - heavily trailed in the media as "the new Spitting Image" - won 19% of the audience from 10pm.
That was not quite enough to beat 4.6m (21%) for The 10 O'Clock News on BBC One but led Channel 4 movie Sahara, which held 2.7m (11%) from 8pm to 10.20pm. On Five, film repeat The Man Who Sued God attracted 1.5m (7%) from 9pm to 11.05pm.
Earlier, Heartbeat gave ITV1 a predictable win at 8pm with 6.7m (26%) - ahead of 5.7m (22%) for Tiger - Spy in the Jungle on BBC One.
BBC One was in the driving seat at 9pm, though, when Casualty 1907 drew 5.3m (22%). The final part of ITV1's He Kills Coppers serial attracted just 2.6m (11%).
