Fergie: 'I wouldn't audition for 'Idol''

Fergie has admitted she wouldn't audition for American Idol if she was just starting out her career.

The Black Eyed Peas singer told Access Hollywood: "I would be a nervous wreck."

She added: "I really feel for the contestants on the show. I mean at this level, all of them could have record deals and careers, they're so amazing. Just to learn a new song every week. A new song, a new style, and to have to perform it in front of all those people, it would make me too nervous."

However, teen singer Miley Cyrus revealed she would have auditioned for the show and wouldn't be intimidated by Simon Cowell.

"Hopefully I would win," Cyrus said. "[Simon Cowell is] pretty cruel. Hopefully I'd take it home but I don't know."

Both singers appeared at the Idol Gives Back event to raise money for poverty-stricken families in Africa and the US.
