BBC Three logo unveiled
Published Wednesday, Oct 16 2002, 17:40 BST | By James Welsh
The logo for BBC Three, which will eventually replace BBC Choice, was unveiled by the corporation earlier today.

The somewhat unconventional logo, at least when compared to the uniform "ONE", "TWO" and "FOUR" logos already in use, will form the basis of the new channel's identity on TV, online and on digital interactive applications.
Stuart Murphy, current controller of BBC Choice, said: "The creatives at Lambie-Nairn have done a really good job. Hopefully viewers are starting to get a sense that BBC Three is going to inhabit a completely separate space in the multi channel world – one which is about being multi-culturally British, about nurturing new talent and about encouraging and guiding creative risk."
BBC Three aims at the 25-34 age range and promises a "rich mixed contemporary schedule". The BBC seems to be very keen, especially in light of this logo, to distinguish the channel from its other brands.
Charlotte Castle, creative director at Lambie-Nairn, who created the logo, explained: "The logotype is one element of the BBC Three brand identity, and the slanted three gives our designers the potential to develop in three dimensions. We are very excited about developing this and revealing the rest of the brand identity nearer to launch."
