Gerry Murphy is to stand down as CEO of Carlton within the next two weeks, according to the Media Guardian today.
Murphy, who was left out of the executive lineup in the proposed Carlton/Granada merger, is likely to leave for high street retailer Kingfisher after completing the latest round of merger talks with Granada.
One ITV executive told the website: "He will support the proposed merger over the next few weeks or so and then he will take time out to decide what he will do."
