In McNab’s Tour of Duty, the ex-SAS man will look at the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq through Ministry of Defence footage, video and pictures from allied troops, reconstructions and interviews.
"Whatever you think about the rights and wrongs of the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, what our soldiers are doing there is remarkable and is making history," said McNab. "This series for ITV4 will tell the real stories of real courage and bravery in the theatre of war."
Real Prison Breaks, narrated by Life On Mars star Glenister will detail notorious escapes from across the world. There will be interviews with the escapees and expert opinions.
For Vinnie Jones’ Toughest Cops, the footballer-turned-actor is investigating "the extremes the world’s police forces have to go to in order to maintain law and order". The show will feature film of operations in locations such as Bogata, Kingston and the Ukraine.
Male-targeted ITV4 broadcasts some of ITV's European football coverage and other programming on the way includes mixed martial arts fighting and US sci-fi series Sanctuary.
Controller Dave Fewings said: "These exclusive shows reflect ITV4’s new remit - action packed programming for men. They all explore dynamic subjects, fronted by men who personify the channel’s direction."
