The Welsh actress left the show after being placed in the bottom two with Ashley Russell after a public vote. The pair performed 'Whistle Down the Wind' in last night's sing-off and Sir Andrew Lloyd Webber, appearing live from Las Vegas via satellite, chose to save Ashley for next week's show.
"Both of them sang wonderfully, and it was an extraordinary sing-off" he said. "This is the toughest call I've ever had and I really mean this."
Francesca, who has appeared in a West End production of Rent, received encouragement from Lloyd Webber.
He said: "I do feel you've got a fantastic career as a professional actress and it's going to be the beginning of a long road for you."
From the Oliver hopefuls, 13-year-old Kwayedza from Essex was chosen to progress into the next round.
