Andrew Garfield has claimed that he wasn't prepared for winning the best actor gong at last night's BAFTAs.
He admitted that he had no speech planned because his "instinct" told him that he wasn't going to receive an award.
Garfield said: "I really didn’t [expect to win]. My instinct, which is usually really good, was telling me, no. So to save myself myself the embarrassment, I didn’t prepare anything."
When asked where he was planning to keep the award, the 24-year-old said: "I have no idea. I haven’t given it any thought yet. It will probably go somewhere that it deserves to go.
"The pride I feel in having it will be symbolic. Probably not a doorstop or book stop. I think this one is a serious one."
Garfield won the accolade for his performance in John Crowley drama Boy A.
