The Apprentice and Britain's Got Talent were nominated for the Sky+ Audience Award for the Programme of the Year, but lost out to BBC Three comedy Gavin & Stacey.
Speaking after the ceremony, Morgan told The Sun: "I’ve had Sir Alan on the phone, going 'Gavin and what?' I didn’t even know there was a BBC Three!"
Morgan claimed last week that he was going to enjoy beating Sugar to the award. The Amstrad businessmen responded by comparing Morgan to a "monkey" for his performance on Britain's Got Talent.
