Meera Syal to star in new BBC2 comedy

A new sitcom starring Meera Syal (The Kumars at No 42) and Olivia Colman (Peep Show) has gone into production for BBC Two.
The series is based on a book of childhood memories by Simon Doonan and centres on family life. Colman plays the mother Debbie and Syal is the blind live-in auntie, Hayley.
Other characters include 13-year-old Simon, best friend Kyle, father Andy, older sister Ashlene and grandma Narg.
The series is written by Jonathan Harvey (Gimme Gimme Gimme) and will air later this year.
