Fifth 'Peep Show' series opens to 1.4m

The first in a new series of Peep Show won a respectable audience for Channel 4 on Friday.
The comedy drew 1.4m viewers, or 8.5% of the total audience, at 10.30pm - 200,000 up on the first instalment of series four.
BBC One led the slot, though, notching up 3.5m (24.2%) for Friday Night With Jonathan Ross over an hour from 10pm.
ITV1 drew 2.2m (16%) for film Lethal Weapon 4; while Newsnight, on BBC Two for an hour from 10.30pm, matched Peep Show's 1.4m (8.6%). Five's Shark averaged 1m (5.6%) from 10pm.
