A group of licence fee evaders known as the "Liverpool Six" are taking the BBC to court to argue against it, according to the Sunday Times today.
In a case being heard on January 9, the group, which includes five single parents and an asylum seeker, will claim that the £112 per annum fee contravenes article 10 of the European Convention on Human Rights.
James Parry, solicitor for the Liverpool Six, said: "The licence fee appears to be an unfair tax that targets poor sections of society disproportionately."
