ITV2 Daytime gets off to good start

ITV2's decision to open its doors at the earlier time of 9.25 on weekdays appears to have been the right one.
Early ratings figures obtained by Digital Spy indicate that the channel took an average 1.37% share amongst individuals during its daytime hours last week, with a 1.55% share amongst housewives, the target demo, and a higher 1.87% share amongst women 25-34.
The extended schedule is composed of Coronation Street and Emmerdale repeats, as well as Judge Judy and the new series of Sally Jessy Raphael.
An original commission comes in the form of Trisha Extra -- airing immediately after the ITV1 show goes off air -- which steadily built its audience day on day in the first week from 50,900 (2.5% share) on Monday to 62,500 (2.9%) on Friday.
The new strand has benefitted from extensive advertising on ITV1.
