Du Beke to front BBC2 cooking series

BBC Two is making a new cooking competition series presented by Strictly Come Dancing star Anton Du Beke.

Each week a team of home cooks will take on professional chefs including Christophe Novelli and Aldo Zilli. Lloyd Grossman will judge the contest and award a cash prize in a blind taste test

"It’s a real David and Goliath contest," said a spokeswoman. "The valiant home cooks have nothing to loose but the professional chefs have their reputations seriously at stake. They just can’t afford to be beaten."

The daytime series will start in July.
