TV version of 'Celebdaq' planned for BBC Three
Published Friday, Nov 29 2002, 13:44 GMT | By Neil Wilkes
The BBC is planning a television version of its online trading game Celebdaq for new youth channel BBC Three.
The Celebdaq website has gained over 50,000 players since its launch in July, who "buy" and "sell" shares in celebrities, with prices rising and falling according to usual market forces.
The television version will come in the form of a weekly, half-hour show, presented live by Patrick O'Connell, a former BBC business reporter. O'Connell will be armed with Peter Snow-style 3D graphics to chart market movements, and will be joined by industry experts to analyse long-term trends in the celebrity stock market.
BBC Three will launch in February as a replacement for BBC Choice.
