Virgin 1 lining up shock docs series

Virgin 1 has ordered a series of real-life shock documentaries for its primetime lineup this summer.

Six instalments under the banner & Proud will look at "extraordinary characters and their lifestyles".

Bunny Boiler & Proud will cover those who "go to excessive and disturbing lengths to make themselves heard by a partner or ex-partner". Real-life examples include "the jilted husband who killed his wife’s cat by cooking it in the tumble dryer".

The other episodes planned are Love Rat & Proud, Cradle Snatcher, Gold Digger, Sex Maniac and Kinky.

Daniela Neumann, Virgin 1's acting director of programmes, said the series would be "an edgy, controversial and in-depth look into the people that pride themselves on living out some of the most taboo subjects in everyday culture".
