Tate hopes to continue with sketch show

The actress had sparked speculation that the 2007 Christmas special would be the last outing for the show. The episode saw mouthy teenager Lauren, the programme's most recognisable character, killed off in a kayaking accident.
However, asked in an interview with the BBC if she would continue with the show, Tate replied: "If I have more ideas I will... we need to have some new ideas, then hopefully yes."
Tate admitted that she added more depth to Lauren's character after being criticised for promoting bad behaviour amongst youngsters. Later sketches saw the schoolgirl reciting a Shakespearean sonnet from memory and speaking in French.
"She used to get so much stick, she was getting the blame for the hoodie culture. I never thought for a moment that children would pick up on it," she explained. "But I didn't want her to be a bad child, I made sure she never swore but I wanted her to be bright if a little bit bolshie."
