BBC trails 'Bonekickers' as big new drama
Published Wednesday, Jun 4 2008, 12:26 BST | By Dave West
The show, written by Ashley Pharoah and Matthew Graham, follows a group of archaeologists. Their work "will lead them into an investigation of the past that will unlock dangers and mysteries in the present".
Bonekickers was previously billed for spring but no air date has yet been given. However, it is a centrepiece of the BBC's programming plans for BBC One, which were published today.
Other plans for the channel include new Caroline Quentin comedy The Life Of Riley.
BBC Two's programming for 2008/9 will include an event-TV project called Planet Meltdown, about the possible impacts of climate change, and documentary Desperately Hungry Housewives, looking at "the trend of anorexia among high-achieving mothers".
BBC Three, which remains focused on youth and new talent, welcomes CGI comedy The Wrong Door and Coming Of Age, a comedy series written by a 19-year-old student.
Another newcomer named in plans is a strand called Britain From Above. Spanning channels and platforms, the project is described as "a fresh approach to online documentary in which material from programmes running across BBC One, BBC Two and BBC Four will enable users to explore their own country from a new perspective and which will remain available online as a lasting resource".
