A strong audience for Gordon Ramsay's F Word took Channel 4 above ITV1 in the ratings on Tuesday.

The cooking programme was watched by 3.1m, or 13.9% of the viewing audience, over an hour from 9pm. The figure was a big improvement on 1.1m (4.4%) last Tuesday when F Word clashed with Britain's Got Talent and The Apprentice.

The second episode of Trinny and Susannah show The Great British Body, in the 9pm slot on ITV1, drew only 2.7m (12.1%).

BBC One led the way in the slot with Traffic Cops, which attracted 5.5m (25%).

A new-look Culture Show on BBC Two - moved to the 10pm slot and cut to half an hour for the first time - recorded a pretty poor audience of 793,000 (4%).
