Presenter cull at 'RI:SE'

Three of the presenting team on Channel 4's RI:SE have been axed, it was confirmed today.
News presenter Chris Rogers, entertainment correspondent Liz Bonnin and sports anchor Kirsty Gallacher have all been dropped from the show. Following Colin Murray's departure in October, just two presenters from the original six-strong lineup will now remain -- entertainment correspondent Edith Bowman and main anchorman Mark Durden-Smith.
Soccer AM's Helen Chamberlain, who fills in for Gallacher occasionally, is expected to join RI:SE in a full-time role.
The programme, a successor to The Big Breakfast, will go off air for a Christmas break on December 20. When it returns one month later on January 20, the whole format will be rejigged. As well as a new presenting team, it will also come from a new location -- the top floor of London's Whiteleys shopping centre.
"The show will return with a fresh look and feel. I'm very grateful to the team who have worked fantastically hard since launch," said executive producer Sebastian Scott. "Currently all aspects of the show are under review and these changes will be honed when off air for when we come back."
Sharon Powers, commissioning editor for entertainment at C4, added: "We want to build on the show's strengths and introduce new elements in a different setting. We're right behind the team and look forward to being back with a brand new look."
