With one of the most diverse and impressive lineups in the show's history, excitement about the tenth run of I'm A Celebrity is understandably high. Will there be a romance? Will Stacey Solomon ever calm down? And can Shaun Ryder go three weeks without swearing on air? We caught up with the jungle's exec producer Chris Brogden to get all the gossip on the new series.

What’s new on I'm A Celebrity in 2010?
"I can confirm that we are splitting the celebrities into two groups this year, so it’s going to be men versus women from the very start. There will also be a big surprise for them on day one. This is something we've never done before in the history of the show, so we're really excited about it."

What's the big surprise?
"The celebrities will be thrown into the deep end when they meet for the very first time because they will immediately face their first trial: Terrorvision. This will take place at a luxury villa we've hired for the show and we hope it's going to shock them all from the start. The winners of the trial will get to spend the night in the luxury villa. The losers will be sent away to a temporary jungle camp for the night."

Will the teams stay apart for the entire series?
"They will remain apart for the first couple of days, which is why we have two camps this year: Camp Shelia and Camp Bruce."

What else can we expect with this year’s show?
"The weather forecast is storms and rain for the next few weeks, so the celebrities are in for an extremely wet time. We have had catastrophic storms in the area and the camp's creek has been severely flooded a couple of times already this year. We can't predict the weather, so we will just have to wait and see what happens - but we certainly hope there will be no more floodings in the creek."

What’s new in the jungle camp?
"There isn't a whole lot new in the main camp this year. There is a viewing post, which overlooks the main camp area. There's a sofa up there, so it's the perfect space for gossiping, chatting or loving…"

Aha! Does that mean you’re hoping for a jungle romance this year?
"We're always looking for a jungle romance. If there are single people in the camp, there's always a chance - and this year, Kayla is single and Aggro is single. We haven't purposely chosen single people, but it's always nice when that happens."

The American version of I'm A Celebrity was shot in Costa Rica earlier this year. Would you ever consider moving the UK show to Costa Rica?
"No. Australia is the home of the British version of I'm A Celebrity. The whole language of the show is geared towards Australia with its Bushtucker Trials and things like that. Plus, the time difference works really well, too."

What are your main goals for this year’s show?
"The show is going to be bigger, better and more tense than ever before - and we're really excited about the lineup this year. We've got a lot of strong characters and we can't wait to find out what’s going to happen in there."

Can you see the celebrities taking on specific roles in the camp?
"You imagine Gillian McKeith might want to get involved in the cooking, but who knows until she enters the jungle? Apparently, Gillian thought there was going to be a cooker in the camp and she didn't pack any swimwear. Oops. And then there's Britt Ekland, who is one of the oldest women we've had on the show. I don't think she’s very motherly. I think she's more likely to expect things to be done for her."

Are you worried about Shaun Ryder swearing on live television?
"We know Shaun swears, so we're fully prepared. We have a delay button and we always warn the celebrities not to swear during live situations like the live trial. However, we haven't warned Shaun in particular because we wouldn't want to inhibit him. He is a colourful character and he's larger than life, so we can't wait to see what he does in there. He's told the producers that the thing he's most scared of is what the Gallagher brothers are going to say! He's going to be fascinating to watch..."

I'm A Celebrity launches on Sunday night at 9pm on ITV1
