Sportsmen are usually highly competitive people. Are you sad that you didn’t make it to the final?
"I'm not sad I didn’t make the final. To be honest, I didn't go into the jungle to win. I went in there to have an experience and a good time. I would have to be in the camp for four more days to last until the final, but it would have been hell. I don't think I would've lasted four more days."
Other people are suffering in the camp, too. Will anyone walk this close to the final?
"Everyone who is left behind now feels exactly the same way I did. They just have to hang in there. It would be wrong to walk because you’ve endured the worst times. You might as well sit it out and see what happens."
Were you ever close to walking?
"There were definitely times when I wanted to walk. You realise your loved ones are in Australia and you want to see them. There are also times when you're hungry and it's tough. You're used to having the luxury of opening your fridge and having whatever food you want. You can turn on your TV and watch whatever shows you want to watch - but you can't do any of that in the jungle. We take a lot of things for granted in this world. Even having no seasoning on your food and having no salt is tough."
Can you solve Poo-Gate for us? Gillian McKeith thinks it was Jenny Eclair. Who is the culprit?
"I don't know who was responsible for Poo-Gate, but Kayla [Collins] did the right thing. She cleaned it up and she mentioned it to the rest of us. I think whoever did it would be embarrassed by that. Kayla said she knows who it was, but there was no need to say who it was. She made her point. Whoever did it was made to feel guilty."
Talking of poo... Can we talk about Dr Poo, Gillian McKeith? What do you think of her?
"I like Gillian. Gillian is afraid of her own shadow. She's afraid of ants and she almost died when a worm fell out of the tree, but that's Gillian and it worked for the show. We're all talking about Gillian. She brought a big audience to I'm A Celebrity this year, so she did well. She was good television."
Do you think Gillian is genuine or fake?
"I think there were times when she was genuine and there were times when she was faking it in the jungle. I couldn't tell when she was being real or fake, though. I couldn't understand how someone can be unafraid of a fly but extremely scared of an ant."
Did anyone try to help Gillian get over her phobias?
"If I saw an insect, I would pick it up and put it in my hand. I would say to her, 'Look at this and try not to be afraid'. People got upset because she didn’t bring in many meals during the Bushtucker Trials, but at the same time she had a genuine phobia. I really wanted her to overcome it."
Were you all horrified when you discovered your food had been flavoured by items smuggled in her pants?
"Panty-Gate! We didn't think of it like that. Gillian has OCD. I was going to say she's really anal, but that’s the wrong word to use at this time. To be honest, I'm sure we've all eaten worse. What you don't know won't kill you."
Is she OCD like David Beckham? He has to put all his coke cans in order in the fridge...
"She was OCD in the sense that she wouldn't share any of the utensils in the camp. She kept her own spoon, she kept her own can and she kept her own cup. At times, I didn't blame her. It was disgusting in there. Every now and then I would put all the cups in a big bowl of boiling water to keep things hygienic because people left things out and there were lots of flies around."
How much weight did you lost in the jungle?
"I lost 8 kilos in the jungle. That's quite a bit, but I'll be able to put it back on in 10 days."
In the past, the girl models who have appeared on the show have panicked when their boobs have started to shrink. Is your lunchbox safe?
"It's a British treasure, so it's still there."
Dom surprised viewers by refusing to go to the night of terror after your challenge with Stacey. Were you unimpressed?
"We all felt that, but Dom redeemed himself a bit by doing the task the next day. Big, strong Dom is afraid of spiders. He would've loved the night of luxury, but he didn't want to take the night of terror. I was always going to do it, so I just took Aggro [Santos] instead. It was a bit eerie in there, but we got on with it."
How scary was the night of terror?
“It was scary because you didn’t know what was going to join you in there. We were in a little cave and it was dark and damp. You should’ve seen the size of some of the spiders in there. There were cockroaches everywhere, too. It wasn’t good.”
Is it competitive in the jungle camp?
"I think there are people in there desperate to win, but I won't name them. There are three people in there having fun and three people just trying to win. I'll let you work it out for yourself."
Who do you want to see in the final?
"I'd like Stacey [Solomon], Shaun [Ryder] and Aggro to be the final three. That would be my choice."
We don't see too much of Aggro on the show. What's he doing in the camp?
"Aggro must be doing something right because he's in there and I'm out here. Aggro is a smoothie. Britt [Ekland] was smitten by him. She loved him and the teenyboppers love him, too. I didn't know Aggro Santos before I went in the jungle, but my daughter did. The teenybopper girls love him because he's eye candy. The girls love him. He's got lovely hair!"
Will you show up on any other reality shows now?
"I always said I wouldn't do this show, but I did it. Never say never."
Perhaps you will pop up on Strictly Come Dancing next year?
"No way. I've got two left feet. You won’t see me on there. Sorry."
