Axed Corrie actor rumoured for 'Celeb'

Coronation Street star Matthew Crompton has been approached for the next series of I'm A Celebrity, Get Me Out Of Here!, according to a report.

The actor will film his final scenes as Dan Mason on the ITV1 soap later this year after being axed as part of a cast clear-out.

Today's Daily Star claims that Crompton is a top choice of Celebrity producers, who are currently making plans for the forthcoming eighth series.

Speaking about his plans for life after Corrie in June, Crompton vowed to consider all work offers. He explained: "Everyone's got to work and pay the rent. Between acting jobs I'd rather get out and do other things than sit on the dole."

I'm A Celebrity will return to ITV1 in November. Donny Osmond, Katherine Jenkins and Shannon Elizabeth have also been linked to the new series.
