German 'I'm A Celeb exposed as "a con"

The German version of I'm A Celebrity, Get Me Out Of Here! was less dangerous than producers made it out to be, according to a report in German newspaper Bild today.
The programme, broadcast on the RTL network, was promoted as "two weeks of authentic jungle life in the outdoors without contact to the outside world."
The report claims that the camp was situated right next to a busy road and that the contestants were protected from the tropic rainfalls by a large tarpaulin overhead. The area was also cleared of any dangerous creatures like snakes or spiders before the group moved in.
"We heard cars driving past," admitted Antonia Langsdorf, one of the contestants. "Civilisation was just a few minutes away."
Fans of the show have jammed the station to lodge complaints about the supposedly fraudulent claims.
