"You keep spirits up here, Joe. We'd be lost without you," he told the former EastEnders actor.
Paddick also revealed that recent tensions between campmates over food should be disregarded as it is the nature of the show.
"Sometimes when you live so closely with people you think everyone's a package and they've got good points and bad points," he said.
"I'd be lost without them even if they're annoying me at this fraction of a moment."
