Van Day triumphs in Hell-O-Phone trial

David Van Day has won nine meals for the I'm A Celebrity, Get Me Out Of Here! camp in his second Bushtucker Trial of the series.

The singer vowed to put his campmate Nicola McLean to shame after she picked up just three stars in the previous day's challenge.

Arriving to face the Hell-O-Phone task, Van Day remarked: "I'm ready for it. She got three stars. Oh, what a shame, let's go for 12."

He added: "I'm gonna do this for the team, not Nicola."

The challenge saw Van Day standing in a series of telephone boxes, where he received calls from previous I'm A Celebrity contestants. He was challenged to answer questions from the stars correctly as the boxes were filled with various jungle creatures.

Though the critters proved to be a distraction as he considered some of the questions, Van Day eventually secured nine meals for his fellow contestants after performing well in the quiz.

"[We'll] make a good meal out of it after three stars," he commented afterwards. "God, we'll be full up. I shall be c**k of the camp."
