The 52-year-old, who was voted off the show last night, entered the jungle alongside Timmy Mallett and immediately found himself trapped in a net.
He described it as "terrifying start", adding: "I think it sent me over the edge a bit."
He also revealed that he and Timmy felt like outcasts when they finally joined the other campmates, saying: "They made us feel like complete outsiders. It was diabolical and they've all paid for it dearly."
However, he added that he used Timmy for moral support and managed to turn his fortunes around.
"In spite of all the gloom and doom, Timmy and I stuck together and wrote our song 'Biff Baff Boff'. But the day I won the bed on the bus was a great Van Day," he said.
