The reality TV couple were thought to have departed the show for good after they walked out of the Costa Rican jungle for the third time earlier this week.
Speaking to host Myleene Klass during yesterday's live show, Montag said: "We realised that we made a big mistake... it's not even about us, it’s about the charities and it’s about the experience here and we really took it for granted."
Pratt added: "I just looked at the whole experience the wrong way, I looked at it selfishly."
While the duo are back in the jungle, they have yet to return to the base camp. In order to rejoin the competition officially, Klass explained that they must spend the night in a bug-infested cabin and that the other celebrities must agree to their return.
Last night's episode also saw the arrival of actor Daniel Baldwin, despite previously denying reports that he would join the show. His younger brother Stephen is one of the nine remaining contestants on this year's programme.
