Gascoigne 'axed from I'm A Celebrity...'

Paul Gascoigne has been axed from the upcoming series of I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here, it has been claimed.

According to The Sun, show bosses decided that it would be inappropriate to allow the 42-year-old former footballer to take part in the reality TV show.

The decision has reportedly been influenced by Britain's Got Talent singer Susan Boyle's recent admission to the Priory.

An insider said: "Paul Gascoigne was given a psychiatric test to see how he was, but he failed it. It was such a shame considering bosses had been trying to get him on the show for years.

"However they realised it was just too much of a risk for him to enter the jungle and be under such intense public scrutiny."

ITV heads are said to be talking to other former footballers to take Gascoigne's place in the show when it returns in November.

Gascoigne's girlfriend Emma Kate Dawson told the newspaper that Gascoigne is "crying out for help" and "needs sectioning again before it's too late".
