The Hills star, who was voted out of the jungle during last night's episode, told host Myleene Klass that the pair were "just friends".
"Sanjaya and I are best friends and that's what we have said all along," she explained.
"I'll miss him, but I'll miss everybody in the camp. It's been the most amazing experience of my life and I don't know how to return to civilisation!"
Speculation of a possible attraction was fuelled by Klass, who recently admitted that she was "fascinated" by their relationship on the programme.
Montag's brother-in-law Spencer Pratt also revealed that he was "praying" for their reported romance to be true because he wanted Malakar to take him to India.
