The actor, who left the Costa Rican jungle over the weekend, told blogtalkradio that he was bitten more than 125 times during his stay in the camp.
"I suffered in the first eight days of production... I had about 30 [bites] on my left leg... 25 or 30 on each arm, kind of all over," he explained.
Baldwin went on to say that doctors later discovered that some of the insects had managed to lay their eggs underneath the surface of his skin.
"I videotaped this process where they put this kind of thick, tough medical adhesive tape that has a chemical compound on it that suffocates the larvae while it’s beneath your flesh," he said.
"And as it suffocates, it tries to back itself out of the hole that it’s burrowed into your skin. And when it does that, the tail section of it gets stuck to the tape."
Baldwin was the fourth celebrity to quit the NBC programme and the eighth contestant to leave overall.
