Vic Reeves is new 'Celebrity' favourite

New I'm A Celebrity entrant Vic Reeves has replaced Joe Pasquale as the bookies' favourite to win the show.

The comedian - real name Jim Moir - has odds of 6/4 with Ladbrokes, pushing his squeaky comrade to second with 2/1.

"Vic has enormous public appeal and even though he's not been in there from the start he has to be made favourite to be King of the Jungle," explained Ladbrokes spokesman Warren Lush. "We now see it as a battle of the comedians between Vic and Joe Pasquale.

"Vic's entry into the jungle has had a massive impact. Punters are piling in to stake thousands of pounds, our phones have been ringing off the hook with viewers trying to back him. Bookies believe that Vic's entry has had a negative impact on Nancy's chances of winning as her odds have drifted from 7/1 to 12/1."

He added: "In reality shows, we have previously thought that a contestant who is not involved from the start can't win. We think differently about Vic, however, because he's so popular and the contest is in its very early stages."
