Benson admitted on GMTV this morning, before Dallerup
walked out of the show, that he had been in talks with the Strictly Come Dancing star.
"I'm very scared about Camilla, she had a meltdown the other night and she's not been eating that well - the whole camp is worried about her," he said.
"What I do is call her up to the Bush Telegraph and tell her to calm down, to drink some water, to eat some food and to get a good night's sleep and reassess the situation the next day. I make sure the medics watch her at all times."
Dallerup, who broke down in tears during her third day on the show, exited the jungle this morning and will be replaced on the show by former boxer Joe Bugner.
Her exit is expected to be shown on tonight's show, which airs at 8.30pm on ITV1.
