The celebrities have spent time "speed-dating" George Hamilton.

Kim Woodburn announced the activities by reading a laminate, which revealed that Hamilton had once claimed that no-one in Hollywood had had more dates than him.

"Today you'll all be learning from the master," she read. "When you go speed-dating with George, each celebrity will have three minutes and will be assessed on the following criteria: sparkling conversation, attentiveness and charm. George will reveal the best date of the day."

Boxer Joe Bugner was first to date Hamilton and revealed that he is a "cheapskate" who is looking for a "rich bloke".

"I'll show you a bloody good time because at the end of the day I like a bit of sex," he added. "But if you are a rough sort I want nothing to do with you."

Justin Ryan claimed that he could make "sweet music" with Hamilton, while Gino D'Acampo offered to cook for the Hollywood star and take him out to a restaurant.

Jimmy White joked: "I paid $25 at the door and they said there was a beautiful girl in here", while Stuart Manning revealed that his perfect woman would be 70.

After the dates, Hamilton praised White's humour, adding that Sabrina Washington was "alluring". He also claimed that Manning had "every manner and charm", while Kim Woodburn had "grace" and D'Acampo had "perfect manners".

Speaking to Ryan, he said: "There was a hot steamy effect in the air, but you were pleading for sex with a broken nose. I have to think about this."

Hamilton finally announced that Bugner was his ideal date, explaining: "You were to the point and honest. You were to the point and charming. There was a certain directness."

Bugner was flattered to be chosen and joked: "Well, what time are we turning in?"
