The former boxer had to exit the competition after losing the jungle jail trial to fellow celebrity Stuart Manning.
The pair learnt yesterday that as they had received the fewest public votes, they would have to compete to save their place in the competition.
When they got to the jungle jail, hosts Ant and Dec told them that to win the challenge, they must find an escape hatch and torch. They would then have to shine their torch around their jail cell to find three combinations, one of which would open the hatch.
The pair would then need to escape through the hatch, although they also had to find keys to unlock gates in the tunnel.
Both Bugner and Manning found their hatches and torches quickly, but Manning managed to escape while Bugner was still struggling with the combination.
Afterwards, Bugner said: "I didn't want to go, I wanted to stay until the end. I wanted Stuart to win. I've had a wonderful time. I knew from the word go that the youth would take over here, but the experience alone was fantastic."
He had to leave the camp without saying goodbye to the rest of the celebrities.
I'm A Celebrity continues tomorrow at 8.30pm on ITV1.
