The American actor was exempt from many of the challenges for medical reasons and had not completed a single one when he left the jungle this week, though he did take part in bush battles and celebrity chest tasks.
Hamilton had a knee replacement operation four months before he flew out to Australia for the ITV1 show. He also sustained an injury to his arm after slipping on some rocks during his third day in camp.
Discussing his lack of trials, the 70-year-old told The Sun: "That bothered me a lot. I thought to myself, 'Why am I here if I am exempt from all the trials?'. I think the producers saw me slip on the rocks and they wanted to protect themselves as well as protect me. It was frustrating. I didn't come over here to camp out and laugh."
Reflecting on his fall, he commented: "I usually wore my boots everywhere, but I had some new rubber shoes that I was trying out after my shower. I slipped on the rocks and tore a chunk out of my arm. It shook me a little."
Hamilton has previously said that he left the jungle because he did not wish to go head-to-head with celebrities who need exposure more than him.
