I'm A Celebrity, Get Me Out Of Here! contestants will be plagued by Tiger Leeches and skin-burrowing mites on this year's series.
The show's medical expert Bob McCarrin has confessed that some members of the crew have needed emergency treatment due to the bugs.
McCarrin told The People, "The bugs are injecting nasty bites. Some of the wounds have become quite badly infected. Two female producers had bad bites on their ankles. And on average I'm picking out three mites a day from the crew. They get under the hair follicles."
A source added, "Leeches inject a natural anaesthetic so you don't notice they've been on your skin for hours. The mites can sometimes carry Lyme's Disease which can affect the heart and nervous system."
