BBC One's 'Accused' locks up 4.7m

Accused opened with 4.7m on Monday night, but the programme was totally obliterated by I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here!, according to the latest audience data.

New drama Accused, created by The Street writer Jimmy McGovern, averaged 4.74m (18.1%) for BBC One from 9pm. However, it was outperformed by I'm A Celebrity…, which pulled in a massive combined audience of 9.35m (35.7%), despite being down 1.88m on the previous night's series ten debut.

Elsewhere, The One Show attracted 4.74m (20.8%) to BBC One from 7pm, before Inside Out grabbed 3.93m (16.2%). Panorama: Tax the Fat mustered 3.03m (11.3%) from 8.30pm.

Earlier on ITV1, Wild Britain with Ray Mears pulled in 3.86m (15%) from 8pm, beating BBC Two's University Challenge, which mustered 3.07m (11.9%).

Over at Channel 4, Celebrity Coach Trip entertained 2.27m (13.4%) from 5.30pm - up 370k on the previous episode - and 280k (1.3%) on timeshift. Later, Dispatches: Riding Europe's Gravy Train was watched by 880k (3.4%) in the 8pm hour and 63k (0.2%) on Channel 4 +1. It was followed by Coppers, which locked up 1.79m (6.9%), down 860k week-on-week. A further 363k (2%) caught the show on timeshift.

Chris Moyles' Quiz Night continued to 1.08m (5.7%) on Channel 4 from 10pm, while 88k (0.9%) watched the show an hour later.

On BBC Two, Michael Wood's Story Of England had 1.21m (5.1%) in the 7pm hour. Later, comedy Miranda entertained 2.84m (10.9%) from 8.30pm, before new series Giles and Sue Live The Good Life fetched 1.91m (7.3%). The Trip then amused 1.35m (6.5%) from 10pm.

Channel 5's How Do They Do It? attracted 642k (2.7%) from 7.30pm, before The Gadget Show averaged 1.1m (4.2%) in the 8pm hour.

Extreme Fishing With Robson Greene caught 882k (3.4%) on Channel 5 in the 9pm hour, down 500k week-on-week. It was followed by a screening of Black Hawk Down with 884k (7.9%).

ITV1 won primetime with 28.5% (HD: 1.3%) against BBC One's 20.3%. BBC Two came in third with 7.6%, followed by Channel 4 with 4.8% (+1: 0.7%) and Channel 5 with 3.6%.

Elsewhere, spinoff show I'm A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here Now! entertained 880k (5.1%) on ITV2 from 10pm and 66k (0.8%) on timeshift. Celebrity Juice followed on the channel with 241k (2.8%) and 45k (1.1%) an hour later.
