McKeith's 'I'm a Celebrity' exit nabs 9.5m

Gillian McKeith's elimination from I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here! averaged more than 9.5 million on Monday evening, according to the latest data.

A combined audience of 9.58m (35.2%) watched coverage of the TV nutritionist being voted out of the Jungle camp on ITV1 between 8.30pm and 10pm.

Earlier on ITV1, Tonight: The Victim's Tale grabbed 2.97m (11.2%) from 8pm, but it was outperformed by University Challenge, which had 3.33m (12.5%) on BBC Two.

On BBC One, The One Show appealed to 5.22m (21.9%) from 7pm, before Inside Out grabbed 4.12m (16.6%). Fifa's Dirty Little Secrets, a controversial edition of Panorama, mustered 2.85m (10.7%) from 8.30pm, before Accused pulled in 3.84m (14.1%) in the 9pm hour.

Johnny Kingdom's Year with the Birds and Paxman Meets Hitchin: A Newsnight Special grabbed respective audiences of 1.26m (5.3%) and 810k (3.2%) on BBC Two in the 7pm hour. Miranda entertained 3.65m (13.6%) from 8.30pm, before new series Ian Hislop's Age of the Do-Gooders fetched 2.57m (9.4%). The Trip then amused 1.11m (5.1%) from 10pm.

Channel 4's Dispatches: The Kids Britain Doesn't Want was watched by 870k (3.3%) in the 8pm hour and 44k (0.2%) on +1. It was followed by Coppers, which locked up 1.39m (5.1%) and 234k (1.2%) on timeshift. Chris Moyles' Quiz Night mustered 890k (4.3%) from 10pm, while 208k (2%) watched the show an hour later.

How Do They Do It? attracted 842k (3.4%) to Channel 5 from 7.30pm, before The Gadget Show averaged 1.14m (4.3%) in the 8pm hour. Extreme Fishing With Robson Greene caught 783k (2.9%) from 9pm. It was followed by a screening of Hard to Kill with 1.15m (7.7%).

Overall, ITV1 won primetime with 29.1% against BBC One's 19.4%. BBC Two came in third with 8.3%, followed by Channel 4 with 3.9% (+1: 0.5%) and Channel 5 with 3.6%.

Elsewhere, spinoff show I'm A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here Now! entertained 981k (5%) on ITV2 from 10pm and 116k (1.1%) on timeshift.

Coverage of Barcelona's thrashing of Real Madrid in Spain's La Liga was watched by 667k (2.6%) on Sky Sports 1 from 7.30pm.
