To win the precious messages, which were hanging over naked flames, the stars had to fill shot glasses with water using pokers, and once they got the glass a key was released to open a cabinet to the letters.
After several attempts, four of the jungle-dwellers managed to get their hands on the notes. Jenny Eclair, Stacey Solomon, Shaun Ryder and Aggro Santos were all touched as the other campmates read them out, but Dom Joly and Kayla Collins missed out on the treat.
Eclair fought back tears as a message from her daughter Phoebe was read aloud. Phoebe said: "I can't even begin to tell you how truly proud I am of you, you have been so incredibly brave and brilliant, I have even more respect for you than I did before."
She signed off by congratulating her comedienne mum for making her "constantly proud".
Next, Ryder beamed as a message was read from his wife and children, saying that the former Happy Mondays frontman was doing brilliantly and sharing his "uniqueness" with the British public.
They ended by telling Ryder: "Thank you for being you."
Solomon's note contained messages from her mother and boyfriend Aaron, in which they praised her for her efforts. "Can you actually believe you jump out of a helicopter? How mad is that?" her mother said.
Finally, Santos's mum urged him to continue doing his best, adding: "I love you very much and I'm looking forward to seeing you as late as possible."
