According to The Sun, the actress is "very keen" to join the jungle reality show but is reluctant to be without her 1-year-old daughter Eliza.
One supposed friend explained: "Natalie is very keen, but does have some worries about childcare for Eliza, who dotes on her mum.
"The show lasts for a month on the other side of the world, so that is a big consideration. But she really hopes these obstacles can be overcome."
Cassidy, 28, split from fiancé Adam Cottrell in July earlier this year. Cottrell later pleaded guilty to assaulting the star.
She has previously revealed that she wants a permanent EastEnders return.
Benidorm actress Crissy Rock, comedian Freddie Starr and former Big Brother contestant Imogen Thomas have been among those so far linked to the new series of the ITV reality show.
Only Way Is Essex star Mark Wright, who is rumoured to be quitting the ITV2 reality show, has also been tipped to enter the jungle.
