Jan collects two stars in first trial

Jan Leeming failed to complete the first task of this year's series, leaving the group with only two meals.
The TV presenter was lowered into a mine shaft by nominated assistant Toby Anstis, and her job was to discover caverns within the area. The stars, each representing one meal for the group, would be hidden in these caverns, along with a variety of creatures.
Having successfully retrieved the first star from a cavern of scorpions, she made it two out of two from the cave of green ants. She decided to leave the next two, which were buried in a group of rats and snakes respectively.
The fifth cavern contained cane toads, which Leeming extracted one by one before eventually reaching her third star. However, having dropped onto the toads below her, she was reluctant to be lowered any further to continue her hunt for stars.
"Toby, bring me up,” she requested, "Please get me out of here!"
Having gathered three stars, Jan was distraught to discover one had fallen from her reach en route back to the top of the shaft. “Oh Toby, it was such a shame I tried so hard and then to drop a star,” she told him.
