The 53-year-old has signed a £500,000 contract with publishers Simon & Schuster, who believe that Gest's new UK fans will want to read more of his humourous anecdotes, as well as details about his childhood and how he made it big in the music business.
A source told the Daily Star: "David's got no obvious talents. He can't sing or dance - but he is absolutely charming. The book will reveal what his secret is."
