Ant & Dec informed Bristow that he had to lie on his back in a trolley and pull himself through the tunnel with a rope. Six stars were hidden inside, which he had to untie and collect.

He found the first star tricky to untangle, while a load of cockroaches were poured on top of him. He said: "I'm not worried about the cockroaches. I can't undo the knot."

Moving onwards, he had more cockroaches hurled over him, before grabbing the second star. With a large amount of jungle slime poured over his legs, he said: "They ruined my trousers."

Maggots were then poured onto his head, to which he proclaimed: "Who'd live in a house like this? You dirty smelly tw*ts."

The next stage of the tunnel was pitch black, with Bristow facing spiders in their webs. Finding a fourth star, he was unable to grab the next one.

He explained: "I've had four. I'll pass on this one and get to the other one. That was a sweet. We don't need sweets."

When Ant & Dec asked how he was doing, he joked: "My kids love you two. I'm going to tell them what you're really like. I'm on a roll here mate. Don't worry."

Having won five stars overall, he said: "Bugs don't frighten me. I'll take that. If they're not pleased with that in camp, then they can come and do it."

Later, he said of his task: "It wasn't very pleasant, let me put it this way. I can still feel things crawling on me now. I'm looking forward to getting back to camp now and telling them five out of six, and boy do I need a shower. I don't smell too good.

"It was a bit frightening to be honest. [It gave me an] adrenaline rush. My heart was pumping fast. Must be a bit of fear. It doesn't matter. We're eating."

I'm a Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here! continues tomorrow (November 28) at 8.30pm on ITV1.
