Doctor Who legend Colin Baker left the I'm a Celebrity jungle to an audience of 9.56m (36.7%) from 9pm, while 461,000 caught the ITV reality show on ITV1 +1.
The X Factor pulled in 9.09m (34%) at 8pm (+1: 211k) for Rylan Clark's departure, prior to which Surprise Surprise enthralled 3.95m (15.8%) at 7pm (+1: 217k).
Meanwhile on BBC One, Countryfile (7.67m/32.2%), Antiques Roadshow (5.93m/22.2%) and The Secret of Crickley Hall (5.25m/19.1%) commanded solid audiences.
Elsewhere, Peep Show returned for an eighth run on Channel 4 with a tiny 840k (3.8%) at 10pm (+1: 179k), but beat Harry & Paul's 671k (2.9%) for BBC Two.
During the 9pm hour, Homeland held a steady 2.03m (7.4%) for Channel 4 at 9pm (+1: 227k), enough to surpass Dragons' Den which mustered 1.68m (6.1%).
Film Superman was Channel 5's best-rated broadcast of Sunday evening with 939k (3.7%) from 6.30pm.
Overall, ITV1 led primetime with 29.2% (+1: 1%) ahead of BBC One's 24.3%. Channel 4 rolled into third place with 5.1%, securing a win over BBC Two (4.6%). In last place, Channel 5 had 3.3% (+1: 0.3%).
The Xtra Factor (594k/2.2%) retained its lead over I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here! NOW! (562k/4.2%) in ITV2's reality show spinoff battle.
